Can we also talk about Tyrion for a second here?
Last night's ep covered Tyrion's little trip to Selhorys where he eventually runs into/is kidnapped by Jorah. In the book, I think we all remember what goes down in that brothel -- namely that Tyrion fucks a whore who is CLEARLY disgusted by him, vomits, then fucks her again because shut up I'm paying for your cunt so just deal with it.
When run through the D&D filter, however, what actually happens on the show? The whore is utterly charmed by Tyrion (especially after he compliments her on her intelligence), and then when she offers to take him upstairs, he stops and says that he just can't do it. "No one is more surprised than me," he adds with a sheepish grin.
Oh. My. God. I laughed. I actually laughed out loud. Can D&D's chronic whitewashing of Tyrion get any more pathetic than this??? In a show that glorifies rape, and in an episode that is actually setting up a major female character for a spate of NON-CANON sexual abuse, they deliberately OMIT a canonical rape by a character they are determined to hero-ize by any fucking means possible. Sick. Really, really sick.

Oh, please. Let's do.
All of the Lannisters have been whitewashed beyond recognition (have you seen the tumblr user who calls this super sympathetic Cersei "Carol." She cracks me up), but last night's scene with Tyrion in the brothel was BEYOND ridiculous. And let's remember that whore that Tyrion fucks in the books has RED HAIR. It's very in between the lines, but Tyrion chooses a whore who looks like Sansa. That is Tyrion fucking Sansa vicariously through the dead-eyed whore (much like Sansa probably would have been if he'd forced the issue). This is supported even more by the fact that Jorah has the Dany look-alike on his lap when Tyrion meets him. It's a low moment--not as low as murdering Shae or raping Tysha, of course, but it's low.
Also, isn't it a lovely view of prostitution D & D have. The whores always look SO HAPPY! The scene in Baelish's brothel and with Tyrion and Varys later on, they are just so giggly and happy and oh-my-gosh they just LOVE SEX! The LOVE IT!!! SEX WITH STRANGERS!!! WHOOO!! They love it so much you even have a special few, like Tyrion's lady last night, who GIVE IT AWAY FOR FREE!!! Because why not!! It's not like she's a prostitute because she's desperate for money or because she is a slave who would be required to give the money to her masters. That tear tattooed on the prostitutes "lest they forget," (as the inane dialogue let us know last night) is a tear of LAUGHTER! Who wouldn't want to be a prostitute and cavort and giggle and play ALL DAY!

Then he can't go with a whore? Why? He was with Ross and Shae without any problems. Is it because he wants to be faithful to his wife Sansa?

That's the best part! You don't know! Maybe he's just too good now. Maybe he's afraid that, Zeus-like, the poor girl will be immolated by the flames of his purity and awesomeness when he reveals himself in all his glory. He just...can't...do it. Sigh! What a GOOD GUY!!
PUKE!

And poor Saint Jorah too... they had to make him EXTRA pathetic by having even the Dany lookalike whore not give him any. Poor tortured soul! [eyeroll]

POOR JORAH! I wept for him, I tell you! I wept! He's such a nice guy! Such a classy accent! And the Dany whore walks right past him, her ass in the camera. It's not fair. Why don't the pretty young girls give him the sex? He's SUCH a saint.
St. Tyrion and St. Jorah, the patrons of nice guys who just can't get the hot girls to sleep with them. And maybe St. Tyrion can also be the patron saint of good guys who really want the sex but are just too nice, doggone it!, to take it when it's free? Or something? I still don't know why Tyrion said no to free sex with a willing woman. Does he only like it when the women are coerced with money or threats? NO! Not St. Tyrion!
