As we all know, Harrenhal is a harbinger of bad luck, with many houses and holders meeting some great misfortune after coming into ownership of the castle. Even Janos Slynt, who only claimed the seat briefly and never set foot on its grounds, met a grisly end. It seems the only house that has been able to manage it for any length of time is the Whents. Lady Whent's current whereabouts are unknown, though LF claims she is dead.
And now LF is the Lord of Harrenhal. What makes him (or any of us) think that he will be any luckier than the rest of these ill-fated holders? Being the Lord of Harrenhal is basically the equivalent of being the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts, LOL. He's gonna have to go down eventually anyway, just because he is what he is, but this title in particular seems to portend his doom.
Meanwhile, I think Lady Whent will come out of hiding eventually and reclaim the castle.

I think the fact that Littlefinger is Lord of Harrenhal means exactly what we think it means. He's going to suffer the same fate at the others. I am curious though about Lady Whent--why would she escape the curse do you think?

Hard to say, I'll have to do more reading up on the Whents. However, their sigil is a bunch of black bats, so maybe the spookiness of their house symbol is just a natural fit for the spookiness of Harrenhal, LOL.

And Sansa was said to turn into a wolf with bat wings when she escaped from KL. And I don't remember clearly, but aren't the Whent's related to the Stark kids some way?

Ooooh maybe Lady Whent will be the one to help Sansa grow those "bat wings" for real and off LF?? And didn't Sandor pretend to be in the service of Lady Whent at the Red Wedding?? Hmmmhmmmhmmm...

Crackpot time!
So, I just realized that Catelyn's mother was a Whent, which means her children -- Sansa included -- have Whent blood.
What if the castle that Sansa and LF rebuild isn't Winterfell -- it's Harrenhal?? LF is still Lord there... What if they take a little "detour" on the way to WF, to check out LF's new seat, and Sansa, being of Whent blood, is able to repel whatever bad luck holds sway there, but LF himself is not so lucky?
Okay, maybe a stretch, LOL, but I feel like this Whent connection with both Sansa and Harrenhal (and, by extension, LF) is going to come up again at some point...

I love crackpot! But you are on to something. The tourney at Harrenhal is where Lyanna was crowned the queen of love and beauty by Rhaegar. Sansa has Whent blood and Littlefinger has Harrenhal, which is in the Riverlands (where Lady Stoneheart holds sway, yes?).
I wonder sometimes how to read that castle building scene between Petyr and Sansa. It shows us how Winterfell and her memories give her strength (and Petyr seems to be helping), but if it does reference a future event, I don't know that the castle has to be Winterfell. In fact, I don't know if Petyr and Sansa WILL end up in Winterfell. There's nothing in the novels that really support it yet, other than Petyr telling Sansa that he would help her retake Winterfell and I think we all know how much we can trust his word. The show only put Sansa in Winterfell to rape her since Petyr is no longer there and apparently neither will Sansa be. So, I don't even think the show "spoiling" the books by putting Sansa in Winterfell with Petyr can be believed.
The prophecy tells us Sansa will slay a savage giant in a castle made of snow. Winterfell is, of course, the first castle we think of, especially since Sansa makes it out of snow and "kills" Sweetrobin's "giant." However, on the way down from the Eyrie with Sweetrobin, she looks up at the Eyrie:
The Eyrie is another "castle made of snow" and there is a waycastle on the way down that is also called Snow, another "castle made of snow." It's at this waycastle that Mya tells Sansa that "a mountain is not a man, though, and a stone is a mountain's daughter." This is such an evocative line, and I don't even know how to interpret it, but there is one Mountain who IS a Man, and I wonder if it might be a savage giant in a yet another castle made of snow--maybe Harrenhal? There are at least 3 or 4 potential snow castles that could fit the prophecy--why not one more? Do we get any such description of Harrenhal? And now I've stretched it very far into crackpot territory.
And as a complete aside, as I was looking for that line I quoted above, I ran across this favorite line:
Randa tells Sansa this when our romantic girl wonders how a man in love dreams of his lady. It just occurred to me that though I always thought of Sansa maybe thinking that Sandor was dreaming of her naked, this may be one of those lines that make Sansa realize her feelings for Sandor since she's the one who dreamed of HIM naked.

I read a theory recently that suggested that Sansa and LF may have to bail from the Vale after Sweetrobin dies, and it seems to make sense to me for them to go to Harrenhal, yes? It's LF's seat, it's fortified (kinda), and it's feared. So indeed they might very well end up there, and that may very well be where Sansa "slays the giant". The "castle made of snow" part might simply refer to Harrenhal being buried in snow from the encroaching winter, which many places in the north seem to be at the moment.
I DO think Sansa will end up at Winterfell eventually, but she could very well be making other journeys in the meanwhile.
AH, but he's NOT really a man anymore, so if that line is meant to be evocative of Gregor, then it's not untrue!
Is it possible that Gregor might return to Harrenhal as well? Perhaps LSH ends up there too... And like I said before, Lady Whent herself might still be hiding out there somewhere...
OR maybe we can have it both ways: maybe the GoHH's "castle made of snow" IS Winterfell, and the Giant is someone else, i.e. Gregor. BUT Sansa and LF still make a pitstop at Harrenhal along the way, where her Whent blood protects her from the curses but LF isn't so lucky. Therefore she ends up journeying to Winterfell without him in the first place. (That would be nice...)
Ahhhhhh c'mon, George, we need TWoW in our hands asap before we completely go mad!!! LOL
